Recipe - Toasted Almonds

Toasted almonds are one of Spain’s favourite snacks. They are ideal with cheese, desserts, gins, digestives and sweets. Preparing them, however, is not as easy as it may seem!

  1. Scald the almonds: throw them in water and let them boil for 3-4 minutes.
  2. Remove the skin. You can skip steps 1 and 2 by using Bioterra Organic Blanched Valencia Almonds or Bioterra Organic Blanched Marcona Almonds.
  3. Put the oil in a frying pan and, when it is very hot, add the almonds and toast both sides. It is very important not to stop turning them, because they will take on a bitter taste if you toast them too much.
  4. Once golden, place on absorbent paper and salt to taste.
