Toasted almonds are one of Spain’s favourite snacks. They are ideal with cheese, desserts, gins, digestives and sweets. Preparing them, however, is not as easy as it may seem!
- Scald the almonds: throw them in water and let them boil for 3-4 minutes.
- Remove the skin. You can skip steps 1 and 2 by using Bioterra Organic Blanched Valencia Almonds or Bioterra Organic Blanched Marcona Almonds.
- Put the oil in a frying pan and, when it is very hot, add the almonds and toast both sides. It is very important not to stop turning them, because they will take on a bitter taste if you toast them too much.
- Once golden, place on absorbent paper and salt to taste.
