Description: Barnacles (Pollicipes pollicipes) in brine, harvested in the wild in Spain and picked, cooked and packed by hand.

Features:

  • Barnacles are one of the most famous crustaceans in Galicia
  • They are scarce and difficult to capture, as they inhabit on rocky areas with strong waves, posing a great risk to their collectors, the “bites”; for this reason, they are one of the most appreciated and valued delicacies of Galicia
  • Once cooked, they are separated one by one and thoroughly cleaned; once sorted by size, they are “peeled,” retaining the nail and maintaining the appearance of an original barnacle
  • Origin: Galicia, Spain
  • Certification: Galician Fish Market

Serving Suggestions:

In a small bowl, put a handful of ice.  Open the can of Los Peperetes and place the can on top of the ice. Serve cold.  Hint:  Los Peperetes products should not be refrigerated as it can alter the taste.

Ingredients: Barnacles (crustacean shellfish), water, salt. May contain traces of fish and molluscs.
